Off-road e-retailer, ExtremeTerrain (XT) releases another episode of its “Customer Builds” YouTube series. In this episode, host Merideth Evasew speaks with a customer from Massachusetts about his 2012 trail-built Jeep JK and his restored TJ.The interview series aims to inform and inspire the Jeep community in a format that’s easy to digest. XT’s build pages add to each episode by including additional images, as well as a full breakdown of the mods installed.
Owner, John Shea’s JK Wrangler shines when it comes to being off-road ready. He’s “armored just about everything [he] could possibly find to armor,” giving him peace of mind on any terrain. As a life-long camper, John puts his rooftop tent and Jeep roof rack to good use. He comments on the thoughtful design, the protection it provides, and how easy it is to use. In addition to his armor, Meredith and John go over a number of other key mods including his bumper mounted light bar, rock sliders, neoprene seat covers, and recovery kit. John is aiming for extra ground clearance and plans to add a 3-inch lift and 35-inch tires.
The restored TJ was purchased new in 2001. With its age starting to show, John made a few key upgrades. In addition to bodywork, John replaced the door and tailgate hinges, installed a hood kit, and a new Jeep soft top. Future plans include chrome step rails, a Jeep grille insert, and some additional “bling” as requested by its driver, John’s wife Jenny. For more information on this two-for-one customer spotlight, viewers can head to John’s build page at extremeterrain.com. XT will continue to feature customer build profiles with more videos soon to be released. Jeep owners and enthusiasts are welcoming the steady stream of inspiration from real projects across the U.S. This, together, with XT’s extensive aftermarket parts lineup and dedicated customer service team, makes it a one-stop-shop for all things Jeep.
