We are excited to share our review and thoughts on the Raxiom LED Headlights. After receiving them in from ExtremeTerrain.com, we promptly looked to unbox them and see what had come in the mail. We initially were amazed by the size of the shipping box, and quickly realized the reason. The Raxiom lights were packaged wonderfully and secured snuggly to prevent damage during shipping.
After admiring the lights and the darkness of the globe and unique design of the headlight, we decided to get started with the install. We started by removing the our DV8 grill and disconnecting the fog lights and removing our current Truck-Lite LED headlights. The install was seamless and took around 35 minutes, but could take longer if you don’t have the right tools and is your first time changing out your headlights.
The lights come with a LED CANBUS adapters for easy plug and play. We did notice that adapter seems to slip a little so we added a layer of electrical tape to secure and tighten the connection. Once connected to the adapters we secured the lights in place with the stock headlight ring and tested the connections. Once confirmed we were wired and working we reinstalled the grill and headed out to test under the cover of darkness.
The Raxiom lights proved immediately that they had a much more powerful low beam than the Truck-Lite LEDs headlights that I had been running. The lights gave a greater side to side visibility and brighter distance ahead. However, we were disappointed in the high beam as there was very little change in the brightness and distance when high beam was switched on.
Simply, if you are in the market for an upgrade from stock headlights the Raxiom lights at $399.00 is worth the investment. These are are quality made, durable and look amazing installed. The functionality of the lights are great on low beam, but leave something to be desired on high beam. Since, our driving habits don’t require our high beams all that much, and we have our additional LED light bars we are covered. Nonetheless, Raxiom should address the lack of power on the high beam and we will be reaching out to determine if it is a faulty set of lights or an known issue. We will post an update as soon as we hear something.
