Arriving home after a few days away, we found that our friends over at ExtremeTerrain.com sent us a Raxiom 21.5 inch Light Bar to install and review. It didn’t take long for me to promptly unbox and examine what had arrived. Since we had 2 boxes arrive, which I wasn’t expecting, I examined each and found that the mounting brackets had shipped separately. The Raxiom light bar was secured nicely to prevent damage during shipping.
In order to install the light bar, you have to
- remove the grille
- remove plugs for mounting hardware install
- use 1/2″ wrench to loosen/remove rear mounting bolt
- use 5/8″ drill bit to increase size of hole
- insert/secure mounting bracket screw mounts
Once the mounting brackets are in place, I tentatively reinstalled the grille and finished wiring and testing the connection. After confirming the wiring and the Raxiom light bar was working I tightened everything down, finished reinstalling the grill and headed out to test under the cover of dusk and darkness.
RAXIOM LIGHT BAR OVERALL THOUGHTS
Overall, the Raxiom light bar is a beast. It is bright, solid, and looks amazing mounted on the front of the Jeep. If you are in the market for a realizably priced light bar and don’t want to install a roof 50″ light bar, then this is the size and location to go with. The Raxiom 21.5″ light bar is $229.99 and definitely worth the investment. Quality made double row lights with a solid and durable mount and as I mentioned above, look amazing installed. If I had anything negative to say, I would encourage the manufacturer to extend the mounting brackets an additional 1/2″ or so to account for the aftermarket scoop grilles. I have a DV8 grille, which I absolutely love, and the light bar is less than an 1/8″ from rubbing. Otherwise, great investment!
