PAOLI, Pa. (November 14th, 2018) – ExtremeTerrain’s (XT) resident Wrangler expert, Ryan Huck, recently strapped two JL Wranglers to XT’s in-house dynameter to see which one performed best. Jeep Wranglers are not usually regarded as high-horsepower performance vehicles, but Jeep hasn’t offered two engine options since the TJ. To commemorate this, Ryan decided to compare the two JL drivetrains using the XT Dyno to see which one makes the most horsepower and torque. The results are surprising, and it provides a great baseline for future comparisons after some performance modifications are installed.
“Jeep hasn’t offered two engines in the same generation Wrangler since the TJ so we knew engine choice would be a big decision for people. We were excited to put both engines on the rollers to see what they would do and the results were surprising!” -Ryan Huck
