For the ultimate open-air off-roading experience.
Back in March, Jeep presented the rugged Red Bare Gladiator Rubicon Concept at the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari. This was the first time the Jeep Gladiator had been shown with half doors, leading us to wonder when this option will be available for the production truck. Jeep added half doors for the Wrangler earlier this year, and now Mopar Insiders has confirmed that Jeep dealers are accepting orders for Gladiators with half doors for those who want the ultimate open-air off-roading experience.
This option has other benefits too as adding half doors improves the visibility when driving off-road. Like the Wrangler, this option includes regular full-size doors fitted with matching body-color half-doors “conveniently packaged within the vehicle.”
Jeep’s half doors are designed to work with options such as power mirrors, blind-spot detection, passive and non-passive entry handles, and power locks. Using the same hinge locations and wiring connections, swapping from full doors to half doors takes just a few minutes. The zip-in plastic windows can also be removed. The doors can be color matched in standard vinyl or premium acrylic to match the factory roof.
To fit half doors, base-model Gladiators need to be configured with a black Sunrider soft top and roll-up tonneau cover or a Mopar tri-fold or soft tri-fold tonneau cover. They are also not available with limited paint colors, the Dual Top Group package, or the premium black Sunrider soft top.
