The Jeep grille is an iconic symbol of the history of the Jeep, however, it is also what makes the customization of your ride a focal point. For our #projectjku build, I’ve gone through a couple different grilles and most recently looked for a grille with more attitude. I decided on working with Xprite USA and switched out to their Gladiator Vader Grille.
The grille arrived nicely boxed with protective bubblewrap and styrofoam spacers to keep the grille from any damage. As you can see, the grille comes as a matte black finish which makes a statement regardless of the paint job on your Jeep. I am excited as I’ve had other products painted to match, I are actively exploring a Kevlar coating paint job so we won’t be painting the grille to match until then.
As far as the install, it was extremely straight-forward. The actual install took about 20 minutes, and a flat head screwdriver to remove the locking pins for the current grille (DV8 Offroad Grille). Once those were removed I disconnected our turn signal wiring harness and placed the old grille off to the side. One of the many nice features of the new Gladiator Vader Grille was it came with new locking pins, clips and those clips lined up perfectly with the factory holes.
Overall, I are really impressed with the grille. The transformation that it provides to my build is spot on even though we removed the iconic 7 slot grille. The grille is solid, not heavy and looks great. If you are looking for something with edge and will stand out I recommend the Xprite Gradiator Vader Grille.
