The Smittybilt SRC Rocker Guards are inexpensive and great looking rocker guards that add an aggressive look to your JK. The installation is fairly easy and can be done by yourself in a couple hours. No modifications are needed.
You get what you pay for with these. They look great but simply don’t hold up to actual trail use. The mounting system for these rocker guards allows for way too much flex in the middle and they damaged my Jeep’s rocker panels after their first time being used lightly on the rocks. Smittybilt did replace them for free but that didn’t cover the damage to my Jeep’s rocker panel. They simply aren’t made strong enough to actually function as a rocker guard.
Overall, if you just want them for looks, then these are great, but if you actually want body protection on the trail then get a stronger rocker guard – preferably one that welds to the frame – or be sure to combine this with rocker armor for added protection. These are great for the protection you are looking to add to your off-roading.
