The Rough Country Steering Stabilizer w/ relocation bracket was the latest addition to our Project JKU build. This MOD was necessary because of the increased wiggle and loosening of the steering of my Jeep Wrangler. I was running a Teraflex steering stabilizer for the last 2 years, which did fairly well, but was clearly not working.
So, after installing new ball joints and sway bars I wanted to continue my focus on the suspension and upgrade my steering stabilizer for additional control. I started by removing the existing stabilizer and keep key bolts for the installation of the new Rough Country stabilizer.
The removal was straight forward and the install of the Rough Country only took about 45 minutes. However, you will need a hydraulic jack, 3/4 and 1/2 sockets and lastly some patience while loosening the existing bolts. Because these bolts are in some tight areas it just takes some leverage and key positioning to complete the install.
Overall, the Rough Country Steering Stabilizer brings control and tightening to the steering that is immediately recognizable. I would recommend if you are searching for ways to bring back some control to your drive regardless of your daily drive or weekend off-roading, you should strongly consider upgrading to the Rough Country Steering Stabilizer.
