In my experience there are a few modifications that tend to be replaced multiple times over the life of your Jeep. Most likely I have seen that tires, wheels and bumpers are the products that seem to be changed out the most often. Bumpers are the face of your ride and they come in full width, mid-width and stubby sizes and each Jeeper has their personal preference on which “look” they prefer.
I’ve personally have been through five (5) different sets of bumpers (front and rear) and all different sizes as mentioned above. Each one has presented not only a change in appearance, but unique challenges. The latest set of bumpers I have were a part of my new Jeep Wrangler JL purchase and honestly haven’t given a second thought to replacing them. The Rage 4th PRO76 Series bumpers are the brainchild of 3-time King of the Hammers Champion®, Jason Scherer, and are probably the most thought out bumpers on the market.
PRO76 Series Front Bumper
Let’s start with the front bumper which is the PRO76 Series Front Bumper. It is forged from 1018 cold rolled steel and designed to compliment factory body lines and allow for increased approach angles. Jason put in the time to think about what accessories one would want and included an air compressor mount thoughtfully hidden inside the front bumper for practical access.
Additionally, the PRO76 Series Front Bumper features built-in pod style light mounts, winch, and fairlead mounts to eliminate extra parts and adapters. Seriously, if all of the bumpers on the market took the same amount of time and consideration into creation the choice would be so much harder. Because they don’t, the Rage 4th PRO76 Series Front Bumber is a clear leader in my opinion.
Of course, you shouldn’t create a top of the line front bumper without consideration for a properly fitted skid plate. The optional PRO76 Series Skid Plate (PN# JS-JL-FS0) direct bolts to the bumper, protecting and hiding the factory rails and features a 20-inch light bar window with built-in light mounts. Rage 4th recommends the following accessories to combine with their bumper: WARN® Winch, ARB® Twin Compressor (PN# CKMTA12), Rigid® Dually Lights (PN# 504813)
PRO76 Series Rear Bumper
Now, let’s take a look at the Rage 4th PRO76 Rear Bumper that compliments the front bumper described above. The PRO76 Series Rear Bumper is similarly manufactured from 1018 cold rolled steel designed and allows for increased approach angles. It features a recessed center step to accommodate up to a 40-inch tire and fits perfectly above the tow hitch.
One of the more exciting aspects in my opinion is that this bumper includes light windows for flush mount style backup lights, accepts factory proximity sensors, structural tow points with sleek styling for increased ground clearance. Rage 4th recommends the following accessories to combine with their bumper: Rigid® SR-M Flush Mount Diffused (PN# 922513)
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the appearance, quality, and overall functionality of the Rage 4th PRO76 Series bumpers. They’ve definitely exceeded my expectations and will NOT be changing them out. Again, no detail left unthought! Truly a masterpiece of steel and quality.
