Jeep Wrangler and Toyota trucks aftermarket upfitter ExtremeTerrain (XT) is pleased to announce the scholarship winner for the Fall of 2019 semester: Megan Koonce of Grand Canyon University. Megan is pursuing her degree in Environmental Science with plans for a career in fire prevention or fire rehabilitation with the Bureau of Land Management.
Introduced in 2015, the ExtremeTerrain scholarship is an essay-based program where entrants are instructed to describe who they are and why they feel it’s important to maintain access to public lands for recreational use as well as how they plan to use their degree to advocate for the recreational use of public lands.
ExtremeTerrain awards two scholarships annually, one in the Spring and one in the Fall, with over $25,000 awarded to date. With plans to keep awarding scholarships, XT is looking for their next high school senior or full-time student pursuing degrees in Environmental related fields of study. Interested students can send in a 700-1500 word essay, in accordance to the essay prompt, to scholarships@extremeterrain.com with proof of enrollment. Winners of the fall scholarship will be notified by July 15th and spring scholarship winners will be notified by November 15th.
