The Artec Industries Hood Light Mount for the Jeep Wrangler JL comes in a small box and doesn’t have much fan fair. The true excitement is how easy the install is and the difference it makes to add that extra lighting to your build without the whistling noise that the windshield mounted light bar creates.
The brackets/mounts themselves take about 10 minutes to install and replace the current four (4) factory bolts that reside on the cowl. The biggest “gotcha” with these mounts with a light bar is that you can’t fold your windshield wipers forward because the light bar prevents that. Additionally and the most important is that these are best paired with most straight 50-inch light bars with studded ends. After speaking with a Artec Industries representative they explained that they really need to be paired with a Rigid Industries 50″ light bar.
Overall, the brackets are well made, and the install is easy and fast. The most time is the wiring to the auxiliary wires provided by the Wrangler JL.
